Draft Revised Examination Guidelines Published
In order to provide patent protections for medical inventions directed to a new usage or dosage that produce effects beyond those anticipated by experts and inventions directed to methods for collecting data from human beings to support a conclusive diagnosis, “Part II Chapter 1 Industrially Applicable Inventions” and “Part VII Chapter 3 Medicinal Inventions” in the Examination Guidelines are currently being revised. The JPO recently published the draft of the Revised Examination Guidelines and now invites public comments on the draft.
