Since the Great Higashi Nihon (East Japan) Earthquake, we often hear the words “cutting down” or “refraining voluntarily.”
I heard that many couples are postponing or canceling their weddings.
I guess with the situation that this country is in at the moment, people are not really in the mood for celebrating.

When I was watching the news the other morning, a commentator said,
“If we refrain too much from doing things, the whole country is going to become depressed. The vibrant western Japan should liven up eastern Japan!”

A lot of tourist spots around the country are refraining from putting on their illuminations in the evenings, but Nijo Castle in Kyoto has decided to go on with the light-ups in the hope that the affected areas will move towards recovery as soon as possible. Its profits are to be used for reconstruction support.

With the new fiscal year starting in April, we probably need to change our moods a little and start making positive progress.

We, at the Kyoto office will also work hard to lighten up the world of intellectual property from west Japan!
