I guess this weekend will be the last of the sakura season in Kyoto this year.

Last night, we had a hanami (cherry blossom viewing) party in Hirano Jinjya (shrine) and had a great time, thanks to our colleagues who organized it. It’s such a wonderful thing to have a party under a cherry tree.
We had chicken sukiyaki in a restaurant inside the grounds of the shrine. I’m sure most people would associate sukiyaki with beef but chicken was quite tasty as well.
There are a number of different sakuras in this shrine (as shown on the board in the photograph below), so it seems, here, we can enjoy them a little longer. I didn’t know there were so many different types of them.
