I was listening to the radio during the weekend and heard Keisuke Kuwata, the famous singer and host of the program, talking about his recent trip to Kyoto.

He had visited Sanjusangen-do Temple, appreciated the cherry blossoms in Heian Jingu Shrine and went to Gion to enjoy Miyako Odori (dance performed every spring by geiko and maiko). He said it was like a school trip for adults.

It seemed one of the purposes of his trip was to write lyrics for the songs made by his wife, Yuko Hara.

I wonder what the songs are going to be like? We might be able to feel the Kyoto atmosphere in them. It’s a little exciting, isn’t it?

Talking of Yuko Hara, she sings that familiar tune that goes “la, la, lah, la, la, la, lah…” for the Yebisu beer TV advert.

That advert was filmed in Gion, Kyoto.
The way the two maiko in the advert talk in their Kyoto accent is very nice.
