OUR PEOPLE

Ms. Imamura received her B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo.
She has 30+ years’ experience at the Japan Patent Office (1985-2019) as follows: Patent Examiner, Chief Administrative Judge, Director of the Board of Trial and Appeals (in the fields of medical science, biotechnology, organic chemistry and plastics engineering), Director of the Examination Standards Office (where she was responsible for revision of Examination Guidelines for “Description and Claims” and “Extension of Patent Term”), Director General of the Patent Examination Department (Chemistry, Life Science and Material Science), and Director General of the Trial and Appeal Department.　
Also, she served as Judicial Research Official at Tokyo High Court and Intellectual Property High Court (2002-2005) and gave lectures at Waseda Law School as Part-time Lecturer (2013-2014).
She joined Soei Patent & Law Firm in 2019.
