OUR PEOPLE

Mr. Kobayashi received a bachelor’s degree (1985) and a master’s degree (1987) in physics from Tohoku University. He served as Examiner, Administrative Judge, and Senior Director of the Board of Trial and Appeal (1987-2014, 2017-2020) at Japan Patent Office. He also worked for Intellectual Property High Court (2014-2017) as Judicial Research Official.
He examined patent applications and handled trial and appeal cases mainly in the technical fields of applied physics and applied optics.
He joined SOEI in 2020.
